For the longest time before I learned and understood how critical it is to stabilize our blood sugar thru food, I thought that eating a bowl of fruit as a breakfast or snack was a healthy choice.  I didn’t pay attention to the red flag waving when my energy would crash about an hour after eating it.  This will likely effect anyone the same anytime fruit, a carbohydrate, is not combined with a balance of complete protein and healthy fat.

Fruit Bowl Fix

Make sure that the portions sizes reflect a balanced nutrient ratio of 30-35% Carbohydrates, 35-40% Protein, 25-30% Fat.

7 ounces of your favorite Berries

2.5 scoops of Whey Protein Pops

.75 ounces of Walnuts
